Dana Bol studied experimental film with Stan Brakhage at the University of Colorado Boulder, engendering a life long love of layered imagery and film. Dana worked at several editorial companies in New York City before forming arc*light editorial in 1998. She was the managing director until 2001, when she formed Tallgirl, a company specializing in VFX and Creative Film Editing which she still runs today. She has worked with legendary directors like Spike Lee, John Schlesinger and Ellen Kuras.
Clients include Gillette, NFL, P & G, Essie, A & E, Cinema Street, Spike DDB, ScottFree, US Navy, National Museum of Qatar, NBCU, Maybelline, L’Oreal among others.
Dana has edited documentaries and commercials as well as social assets and content for immersive design. Her work has been screened at the Louvre, Radio City Music Hall and during the Oscars. She is collaborative and creative and a pleasure to work with.
In 2006, Dana attended Parson’s School of Design and it opened up a world of painting, art and interiors. She developed the current techniques used in her painting while in studio classes.
Since that time, Dana has had three solo shows-Radiant Traces in 2009, and Found Objects in 2020 and Fragments in 2024. Impasto and oil have been essential to her work and birch bark, twigs and beads were a major influence for her show Found Objects.
