Lucca D’Inverno

24” x 24” Oil, Craypas, Linen and Plaster on Masonite

Created in 2023 and inspired by a winter drive through the town of Lucca. There was a soft blanket of snow glittering in the afternoon light and the misty light was exquisite. The bone beads mid painting are symbols of structure and passing. The gold gilt on the outer frame captures the light reflections from the fields covered in white crystals. It is as if the past and the future meet in the middle line.
